Description for a french art project; acrylic on 12” x 24” canvas

i took a picture of it in a dark room under a lamp that inevitably added noise and distorted the colors somewhat. it’s actually a bit more grey-green tinted. hopefully after it has been graded i can finish it more to how i imagined it.

done in 3 hours (just getting used to painting again...) because i mistakenly thought it was due the next day when it really was due a week later!

beautifulbeautifulbeautiful...

your art continues to amaze me, and you inspire me to improve and stop putting myself down. but anyways it's a really lovely piece, the paint looks so wonderful, especially how faint it gets into the background and how the grass pales out. the deer are wonderful as well, gorgeous fawn c: <3

Nothing but praise here, I'm afraid. Your woodland fauna continue to enthrall me, and I love soft feel of the scene. They remind me of the deer I've seen on evening/night drives.

Aww Bellamy, this is just beautiful! I love the texture of the grass and the background. The deer are perfectly painted, you are very good with anatomy.

ahaha It's fun to accidently rush things like that. At least it gives you more time for other things.
I like the greyish tints it has in this image, it's not overwhelming with "OMGAWD COLORZ".

thanks

painting is a funny thing. It seems easy enough for me sometimes while other times I think 'oh god, how am I going to do this?' I'm not quite the person to ask because I tend to go right ahead without really knowing what I'm doing lol (which is helpful sometimes; you might discover an interesting technique and you aren't as meticulous since you don't have a particular image in mind). I think some good ways to start is to simply begin by getting used to holding your brushes in various ways and learning your personal preferences as to how to then apply them on a canvas/paper. It's like learning how to draw, except you'll have to continuously and carefully apply a certain amount of "ink/lead" onto your brush every so often.

It would be a nice warm up to play around with various brushes, kind of how you would test a bunch of pens at a store by scribbling them on paper. Try to get brushes varying in size and shape, and it's helpful to get ones that are suitable for certain mediums. Speaking of mediums, what kind of paint are you interested in?

Alrighty will do!

ive always wanted to try out Acrylic paint. Used it in Art class one time on a rushed project. I like the texture of it. ^^

Ah, the old...

"...and it's due in for Wednesday."
"BUT TODAY IS TUESDAY! D:" *mad rush to finish*

"...I meant Wednesday NEXT."

to add, i had also written the due date on the corner of the guidelines, but never noticed it until afterward.

Haha. XD

I HAVE AN ACTUAL COMMENT ON THE ACTUAL PAINTING NOW.

Really cute and lovely lighting, but every time I look at I it I think "Hmm. Better if the deer were further to the right.".

THAT IS ALL.

yeah I was thinking the exactly same thing; although this is a bad shot because the whole thing didn't get in the photo. XD The deer are more to the right though, I should've made it much more so

I can't really comment on that 'cause I can't see the whole painting. XD But yeah, I guess that's what rushed work does to you.
