I should be working on my Tall Grass Travel comic... Why am I procrastinating drawing Pokemon by drawing Pokemon?!This started out with a puppy in mind, but then it looked more like a bunny. But I draw bunnies all the time, so I tried to turn it into a Flareon. But the sketch's ears didn't quite translated to Flareon's ears, so now it's this anatomically incorrect Raichu whose ears also aren't anything close to the sketch because Raichu is adorable. Oh boy, do I wanna cuddle this little cutie, really love how this turned out. ^o^
Of course the background is blue due to Raichu being a Water type. (or maybe it's for color contrast, who knows
)

The blue background gives a nice contrast to all the yellow and orange of Rai's fur. Yes I ignored the ( )'s

RAICHU!!!! <3 My fave Pokemon since day 1!! I have so many nostalgic feelings for the electric kangaroo mouse!! I miss my Raichu T-shirt T^T I grew out of it too soon...

I like Pikachu and I get that a smaller Pokemon makes a better mascot, but I think Raichu is just as cute. 
Admittedly Raichu didn't click with me in the beginning because the first one I saw was Lt. Surge's and that one seemed so cocky. But then there was one episode with an insecure Raichu (I think it was the episode with the Pokemon on stage and the humans speaking their lines in the background - I believe it took place on a ship?) and oh my gosh was that adorable and I've been in love with that Pokemon ever since. ^o^

Heheh that's part of the reason I like Raichu too, in all of its appearances it displays vastly different sides to its personality. And yes, the contrast between Lt Surge's Raichu (and the one from Pikachu's vacation) is quite interesting. It really goes to show that the Pokémon doesn't make the personality. I always saw Raichu as the older brother type, the type who isn't afraid to show off his skills to his younger siblings and act a tad arrogant, but the whole time it still loves its younger sibling and will do anything to protect him. That's Raichu to me, and I love it for that <3
Also yes, Kay's Raichu is one of my favorite Pokémon from the anime, the levels of adorable are way too high!! Also Raichu has beaten the Elite Four for me in many a game, including Pokémon X X3
Thanks to Raichu Electric is my favorite Pokémon type, and I will go on loving it for as long as I live <3

Ah, that's true, Pikachu's vacation also had a Raichu. Completely slipped my mind. Yes, just like with people the personality isn't defined by the species but the individual.
I assume some people keep their Pikachu un-evolved in the games, for me a thunderstone and a Pikachu would always result in Raichu, lol. I forgot what my Raichu in Pokemon Red was called though... been so long ago.
I can't really decide for a favourite type because they all have cuties. In gen 1 I used to really love the Fire types because Vulpix, Ponyta, Growlithe and their evolutions were so adorable. I also have a soft spot for Grass types, but yeah, I can't just pick one type since there's cuteness all over the place. ^o^

Yeah, the annoying thing is that if Ash HAD evolved Pikachu in the anime, Raichu would have become the Pokémon mascot and that would have been awesome! >.<; still I can't fault Ash's Pikachu for wanting to give its all against Surge's Raichu.
I think my first Raichu was in Yellow, but then I really don't remember. What I do remember is that my first Pokémon was Squirtle and I had a Blastoise before leaving Vermillion City, I guess I got stuck at one point XD old times~
Heh yeah, I understand. I have a particular fondness for electric types mainly for their high speed stats, I'm kind of a sucker for high speed X3 (F-Zero GX is one of my favorite games ever purely BECAUSE of the insane speed in that game)

Raichu as a mascot would have been cute, yes. I see why they kept him un-evolved though and it doesn't really bother me. Bulbasaur also didn't want to evolve and in the end I appreciate that they allow their characters to make such a decision.
I played the Red version 3 times just to have played with each starter once. The first one I chose was Bulbasaur, very convenient against Brock and Misty plus really cute in my opinion.

Yeah, its just a shame because Pikachu's status as mascot gets him "special privileges" *points at Pikachu's cry in X and Y* seriously when my Pikachu evolved, and I heard that not only did they NOT use Raichu's anime cry but they ALSO made its old awesome cry sound really crappy, I was very disappointed.
