Wasn't too stoked about the previous 3 mlp episodes, but this week's episode, oh my goodness I pretty much smiled through the entire thing. I really loved Maud, so I dropped everything else and started drawing her as soon as I finished watching.
She reminded me a lot of Raven in her way of talking. I expected her to be the grumpy type of character and while I would have enjoyed that as well, it was sweet to see that she wasn't.
I found her really relatable and had the feeling she was smiling for a mayor part of the episode and the others simply didn't realize thus the drawing's title. Or maybe it's just me having dealt with the same issue a lot of times, lol. If your mouth points downwards naturally it doesn't mean you're sad or grumpy 24/7 yet people repeatedly ask you what's wrong or ask you not to be so moody... so even if in a good mood, being asked that constantly will result in having a bad mood.

The other reason I drew her were her gorgeous eyes - each time she blinked: those lashes. Plus I've always loved purple hair - green eyes combos.
I sure had my fun with her eyes in this and oh boy was it hard to keep the purple at a reasonable level. The background was sooo purple until shortly before I was done. Oh, and rock textures for obvious seasons.
