A few months ago, I made a harsh criticism against a comic about a particularly cruel and insane fetish, and someone accused me of being a “hypocrite” because I “must have been looking for it”.
This struck me as odd, because I actually WAS NOT. See, I STILL do regular random walks across DeviantArt to this day. Maybe not as frequently as ten years ago, but at least a quicky once a week and a real long one at least once a month. I stumble on stuff I never knew I would enjoy, and unspeakable crap I hope to never see again. I’m only figuring out now that I’m apparently unusual to still be doing that for so long, that most people get too busy and too upset by the “wrong new” to continue with a random walk at all anymore, just sticking to their top 50+ artists at some point. Not me, that’s certain; I might have to dig through shit sometimes, but there’s still unique new gems to be uncovered out there.
