From far away, this looks a lot simpler - just a bunch of pretty colors mixed well together.
It's when one comes closer that the amazing details become clearer: the individually colored strands of hair, the different textures, and so on.

Seeing how the focus is on on one side, I'd understand why.
If everything were in focus and not fuzzy then there wouldn't be a true subject to the photo. In that case, it would be a landscape. This is a portrait.

This is simply put a beautiful masterpiece.

I really love how you can see the peach fuzz on her cheeks and the individual hairs on her head and eyelashes, and the glossy shine of her lips. The super sharpness of the side of her face is perfectly balanced by the soft fuzziness of the background. Delicious textures for the eyes!
