i think that this mode of percieving the human body, with the nipples as eyes, is related to the infantile state of development. the nipples are larger than the eyes, almost like eyespots, and i can imagine a baby, with a nascent understanding of "eyes" first aquiring the nipples. i saw a little comic that made a joke involving this trick, and for months whenever i saw anyone shirtless i saw one of these weird faces.
