Finally I finished this pic!
I am incredibly proud of this one, I just love the overall feeling on this pic, but I hope the background would be more visible, 'cause I worked really hard on it xD
I needed lots of screenshots to do the background and some of the poses of the characters.
For those who don't know, in the film RIO 2 there's a scene where the Spix macaws dance and sing the song "Beautiful Creatures". Roberto and Jewel dance together to celebrate Jewel's return, and Blu tries to fit in the group of dancers, but he can't, so he flies away.
Here, instead, I imagined the end of the movie (don't worry, I won't spoil it xD) with Blu and Jewel dancing, along with the rest of the Spix macaws. Blu is finally comfortable in the tribe, he's accepted by Eduardo and the others macaws and he knows better than ever that for Jewel he's one of a kind
PS. For those who don't know, males had red markings in their faces and females yellow ones in their faces and some feathers of the wings during the dance.

I knew that I recently watched a video about that. XD thats how anime got so popular these all thanks to him and the eyes.Yeah I know but there are some anime that got carried away with the big eyes :/ but I like Attack on titans, pokemon, soul eater, and Dragon ball z and little bit of naruto.

Yeah, thankfully not all animes have those damn big eyes xD Death Note for example, works very well with a more realistic look. I am more into Digimon (though I also like Pokemon, but I prefer the videogames rather than the anime/movies), DBZ too, Death Note, Hetalia, Saint Seiya... xP And I used to watch One Piece until I got tired of its never-ending story and the whole timeskip thing.
And yep, you guessed right xP I draw my pictures using Digital Painting programs like SAI, but having a graphic tablet also helps, because trying to draw with the mouse is... well, how to describe its... its awful xD

I know right, luckily my favorite anime don't have those kind of eyes.I used to like digimon then pokemon then back and forth but now I'm huge pokemon fan along with Rio >~<.(yeah I like the games better than the amine but pokemon origins is just best.) I watched Death note before but never watched it again, I hear its good but never got back watching it.Fun fact: One piece was a popluar manga but now its Attack on titans it beated Naruto and One piece beacuse really Attack on titans is just so awesome.
Yeah I agree I remember when I had my first windows pc and used paint...gosh it was terrible but now I'm used it, I have experienced a lot now so I can draw pretty good on laptop but then again I haven't used it in while.
mouse is a easy thing for me but I don't have graphic tablet so I just use whatever what suits meΒ Β

Great picture, this is exactly how I imagine Blu and Jewel dancing and singing the song Beautiful Creatures with the rest of the Spix Macaws. I love both the movie and the song and you did an amazing job on this. Keep up the great work

Yep, it made me kinda sad that Blu was left out of the song, and it would have been amazing to see a reprise of it with Blu and Jewel dancing. I think a reprise of "Beautiful Creatures" would have been a better finale song than "Batucada Familia", I don't know why, tough

Yeah, it's one of the reasons I love this movie so much. Even if the main characters are all blue, they all have different markings and differents tones of blue so you can tell them apart. And of course, being a colorful movie about brazilian parrots = eyegasm

Yep! The smugglers of the first film are a great example (sorry, I think they were better villains than the loggers from the second, though in real life, the loggers may be more dangerous) and also Fernando, I am glad they showed us the two faces of the city instead of making us buy the "Rio is a great underrated city" thingy.
If you think about it, being RIO a film with a macaw as a main character, the smugglers can be really scary, I mean, they capture birds in the wild only to sell them to unknown people, and they chased Jewel and Blu just to get tons of money and never cared about them being the last couple of their species... Surprinsingly, Marcel seems to be quite fond on Nigel.

Yep, for example, I think Frozen wasn't really that good about the songs, they were catchy, yes but... I don't know, I think RIO's and RIO2's soundtrack is far better, but it seems it is a quite underrated franchise just because it isn't made by Disney...

So like, I actually agree with you about how both of the Rio soundtracks are better, like, they're more upbeat and really keep the positive mood in... And sometimes, I can't help myself but like, during some of the songs like Real in Rio(First one), What is Love, and Beautiful Creatures(Second one), I can't help myself but to sing with and even try to dance to the music.
Also, hopefully the Rio series isn't going to end on 2. Like, if BlueSky's planning to do so, they should at least show a third one, or even fourth(Ice Age had FOUR movies.) Like, for the third and fourth ones, one of them should at least focus a bit more on the kids, like they didn't have too much of a role(Except for Carla, who was involved with a subplot with Pedro, Nico, and Rafael of finding animals for Carnival) in the 2nd movie... And the other should finally focus on Blu's past... Like, we have NO knowledge of his parents, like, we don't really see or even hear them mentioned in the beginning of the first movie... And I actually had some crazy dream of the second scenario for a sequel... I would like to explain it, but this comment is WAY too long already. Sorry about how long this comment is...

Not only that, but RIO's soundtracks also make you feel like you are really in Brazil, like Blu and the other character because you recognize the music doesn't sound like some generic and catchy songs for the kids to enjoy. I think it works just like the Lion King soundtrack, with its african choirs and lyrics, you really feel like ifyou were there (something I didn't feel with Frozen. It is supposed to be set in a country very similar to Sweden or Finland, however, the songs aren't "nordic-ish" at all...).
Haha, I do that too! some months ago, I watched RIO with my friends and a friend ofmine and I began to sing "Real in Rio" at the same time it played on the movie. It was so cool. Oh yeah, I also love those three songs! "Beautiful Creatures" and "What is Love" were my summer hits this summer xD
Yeah, I heard about that! It seems Blue Sky wants "RIO" to become another franchise like they did with Ice Age, so probably we'll get a third movie, and there are rumors about and upcoming TV series! I totally agree with you. I was kinda disappointed when I first saw RIO 2, that the movie didn't really featured Blu's kids when they were the first reason fans were hyped about the sequel (I mean, they only made a cameo in the first one, so of course we all were curious about their personalities and role in this sequel. I was also kinda disappointed to find out Mimi wasn't as important as her official bio in the RIO 2 official website made her seem, but well...). About Blu's past, to be honest I don't really care. I mean, yeah, it would be interesting to know where were they during "Real in Rio" but... not for a whole movie. Maybe a spin-off or something. I mean, we also don't know much about Manny's past (from Ice Age), only what was hinted in the first movie and is totally OK. I prefer it when you don't know 100% about a character, so you can deduce the plotholes etc... xP
Fo the third movie I just want it to happen again in Rio de Janeiro. Don't get me wrong, RIO 2 was amazing with the Amazon setting and all, but one of the reasons I fell in love with RIO was because it showed me a beautiful city where you can find skyscrapers and wild macaws in the same place, it had a special vibe, and essence, mixing the city and urban landscapes with exotic animals that I think RIO 2 somehow lost. We already have a lot of movies featuring animals that live in their habitats, but there aren't many movies of animals that, being still wild, live so close to the humans and urban landscapes. And, well, the franchise is called "RIO" for a reason xD
