I get that TLG is a show for kids and many characters are kids/teens but seriously... do I have to believe a lioness that looks no older than Kion is leading a whole pride of lions...??????????? Um, sorry but no, let's age her up because adult lionesses are way more appealing to me xD

For those of you that don't know: it was announced that a new character would be appearing in TLG's third season, Rani, a lioness who's the leader of a so-called "Night Pride" (plz tell me I am not the only one that finds this name silly xD) and upon discovering this today I decided to quickly draw her
Btw, here's her design.

I personally think we will (eventually) see The Characters introduced in The Lion Guard as Adults. The Lion Guard is a midquel. It just makes sense. I lover seeing what older versions of characters that we (so far) only know as cubs. might look like. this is very good.

Hahaha I don’t really watch the lion guard so I didn’t know that a new pride of some sort was introduced. And on my cellphone the title doesn’t all display.

and so far only Rani's design has been shown, hopefully disney will release more concept arts of the members of her pride, since these characters will feature in the 3rd season and the second season hasn't even finished airing yet xD

Yeah it seems rather silly. But the pride itself wasn't shown yet yeah? I thought maybe the "night pride" won't be a real pride, just some group of kiddos living on their own. Not quite a smart idea either, but that seems better to me than a cub leading adult lionesses

Yep, we have only seen Rani so far and we know nothing about this Night Pride except that Rani is their leader.
And I agree with you, I like the idea of Rani living with other teen lionesses like her that left their pride or something like that, however I wouldn't be surprised if there were adult lions in the Night Pride... TLG's target audience are little kids and some of the most prominent characters are really young leading groups/clans (Kion, Janja, Jasiri) after all... Still weird tho xD I really hope Rani's just leading a bunch of kids xD

Yep, that's what I think too, since Janja and (maybe Jasiri?) are also leaders of their clans despite not being adults yet.
A bit of a stretch in Rani's case if you ask me xD but who knows, maybe her "pride" consists of her and... just two other lionesses of her age xD

Hahaha it feels good to know I am not the only one xD I mean, I know Disney hasn't really shown the lions as being nocturnal/active at night but... I really wish they have a good reason for choosing "Night Pride" as a name xD

Also, well, the anatomy and structure of lions in TLG is terrible. So you don't expect her to be bigger than Kion even though she is elder XD

Yeah, that's what is bugging me about her design so far, but the thing is, Zira, Simba and Nala are visibly bigger than Kion (not too much, true xD) so they are easily recognizable as adults. Even Nuka, who's a teen/young adult? was larger than Kion... but the show is so ambiguous with the character's ages that I don't know what to expect anymore

Yep, there's a little interview with her voice actress too, but it doesn't show any footage from the show (and it provides very generic info about Rani), only that single image of Rani, so yeah, I am hoping she is actually a bit bigger once we see her sharing the screen with Kion.

I thought she just looked like a cub because of the cartoon-y art-style. Was it actually confirmed that she's a cub?

As far as I know there's no confirmation about her age :s but I assumed she is a cub/teen because when compared to Nala or the Outsiders, Rani's muzzle is very short, she's got a few spots on her legs just like Kion (which could mean that she's either really young, or that the spots are simply to make her design more interesting) and her body's build seems more similar to that of the cubs characters (Kovu, Kiara, Zuri...).
But it's true that TLG isn't exactly good at proportions or size scales, so we won't be sure until her episode airs :')
EDIT: I just checked her voice actress, who's only 13yo so I guess we can say that Rani is indeed supposed to be a cub/teen.
