I'd do simple exercises in After effects with a bouncing ball (a .png file) on top of a live-action video. Check the difference between reality and cartoon in animation and apply some principles like strech and squash for cartoon style, or try some blur effects to achieve some perspective of reality with the ball. It's a start to understand how to apply rotoscope techniques. My students did well after those few exercises

En cierto modo, tu estilo de crear la animación me recuerda a los típicos trajes de captura de movimiento, o a la peli de animación 3D "Beowulf" (te la recomiendo).

También he hecho alguna animación haciendo motion capture jajaja, pero bueno, aquí tocó rotoscopio en cierta manera
