The next day, Hannah didn't go to school. Jack tried to find her everywhere but it was fruitless
"Where’s Hannah?" He asked Kaden
"She stayed home, she’s not feeling well...why?" He raised a brow at Jack
"I just...wanted to see if she was okay" Jack rubbed the back of his neck
"Do you know what happened with her?" Kaden asked
"She didn’t tell you? Oh, I mean, I don’t know what happened man, sorry" Jack tried to hide the blush on his cheeks
"Jack. I know you know something." Kaden narrowed his eyes
"She doesn’t want me to tell you, and I think you wouldn’t want to know either"
"Why? You two have never spoken and now you have secrets together?" Kaden was getting annoyed
"You know it’s because she’s scared me" Jack tried to defend himself
"She won’t come out of her room. She hasn’t eaten either...I want to know man, I want to help her" Kaden frowned
"All I will say is that Fiona threw her at me, like, onto my face and said 'here’s your secret admirer'" Jack said, only just now remembering what she had said
"Oh..." Kaden winced
"What? What does that mean?" Jack asked
"Nothing...it means nothing. We're off subject, I want to know more" Kaden avoided his question
Jack wanted to press on but it go.
"It’s not my story to tell Kaden...why don’t you let me talk to her?" He asked
"She won’t talk to anyone, not even Maddie" Kaden frowned
"Let me try, after school, please" Jack had no idea what to say but he needed to clear the air with her
"Okay, but don’t get your hopes too high" Kaden shook his head.

After school, Jack walked home with Kaden. When they got inside, Jack began to sweat. 'What do I even say?' He thought 'hey I saw you naked yesterday, are we cool though?' May not be the best approach. What was he even trying to salvage anyway? Kaden was right, they had never spoken because every time he was around she would run the other direction. Jack just presumed she was afraid of him, but he wasn’t sure why...

Jack stood outside Hannah's room while Kaden went in to see if she was okay with it. He nervously shook his leg up and down. He could hear them talking...

"Kaden I don’t want to talk to anyone, please" she said
"But its Jack, he wants to know if you're okay" Kaden tried
"No! Not Jack! Tell him I don’t want to see him!" Hannah began to cry
"Why? Hannah he helped you"
"Please Kaden!" She cried
He heard Kaden sigh and walk towards the door. Jack stepped out of the way as he walked out and closed the door
"She doesn’t want to see anyone...especially you" Kaden sighed
"Just let me in, please" Jack begged
"I don’t want to upset her even more. Come on" Kaden pulled at Jacks jumper sleeve and they walked into the living room.

Hannah was utterly embarrassed. She had felt so helpless, like those girls could have done anything to her and she wouldn’t have been able to stop them. She cursed her human body. Hannah wished she was Giant. Her kind was always so belittled and humiliated. The government tried it's best to keep equality, but there was only so much they could do.

Hannah didn't want to see anyone, especially Jack. She was going to be forever embarrassed to be around him, knowing he had seen her that way. He was also the only one who knew and she wanted to keep it that way. Hannah lay in her queen bed inside her own house that sat atop a giant sized desk in the spare room. Technically it was all Hannah's room but since she was only ever on the desk, it was open to interpretation.

She had spent the whole day eating junk food and trying to get the whole ordeal out of her head, but it was fruitless. It replayed over and over like a broken record.
She rolled over and closed her eyes and tried to sleep.

"Mum wants me to pick up some food from the supermarket, want to come or go home?" Kaden asked, turning off the show they were watching
"Can I...stay here?" Jack asked
"Uh...why?" Kaden narrowed his eyes
"I want to hangout but I don’t want to go to the shops" Jack lied
"Really? You don’t want to stay so that when I leave you can go talk to Hannah?" Kaden quirked an eyebrow
"It’s really important...please" Jack raised his hands up to Kaden to beg
"What could you possibly do? You don’t even know her" Kaden folded his arms
"Okay, I won’t... Can I go to the bathroom?" Jack asked biting his lip, already turning around. Kaden was going to be pissed...
"Sure?" Kaden said confused as Jack immediately bolted down the hall. Then he realized
"DAMMIT, NO JACK!" He called after him, leaping over the couch and following him down the hall, but it was too late, Jack made it into Hannah's room an locked the door. Kaden growled and hit the door, but knew it was fruitless. He sighed and walked away to go do the shopping.

Hannah was woken up by the giant door to her room slamming shut. She blinked her eyes open and yawned. She then heard someone walking towards her house
"Kaden, I told you to leave me alone!" She groaned and rubbed her eyes and got out of bed and walked downstairs to the door
"Uh...it’s not Kaden" Jack said, fumbling his hands together as he stood in front of her small house
Hannah had her hand on the door handle ready to open it when she realized it was Jack. She back peddled and sat on the stairs, not saying a word
"Hannah?" He tried, but there was no response
"Hannah I know you're in there, you just talked" Jack sighed and ran a hand through his shaggy hair.
Hannah bit her nails nervously. She really didn’t want to see him.
"Hannah I want to talk to you, please" Jack said softly, resisting the urge to try find her in the windows.
Hannah put her head in her hands as she began to tear up. If this had been a week ago she would be melting at his feet, but now...
She stood up and quietly walked over to the window and looked out. She could only see his waist and his hands, he was wringing them together nervously.

Hannah heard Jack sigh deeply. She hoped it was a sigh of defeat.
"Can I at least just give this back? I don’t know what to do with it" Hannah saw Jack reach into his pocket and pull out something purple...
"My bra?!" She said a little too loudly and immediately Jack fell to his knees to be able to see into her house, he caught a glimpse of her in the window
"I saw you, Hannah...please come out?" Jack asked, moving his head around to try see her again.
Hannah had her back pressed up against the door, her body heaving with each breath. She mumbled multiple profanities under breath as she tried to decide what to do, then Jack spoke up again
"I know you're afraid of me Hannah...but please, you have to talk to someone" he tried, his last shed of hope fading.
Before Hannah knew what she was doing, she was walking out her door and onto the open space of the desk. She wanted to tell him she wasn’t afraid...
Jack shot up straight, almost making Hannah fall over
"Thank you" he said softly, looking down at her. He began to feel awkward looking down upon her so he looked behind him and found a chair. He pulled it up behind him and sat down and rested his arms on the table. She was looking up at him, hair tucked behind her ear, big green eyes looking him all over...
"So?" She said quietly
Jack shook his head and cleared his throat
"Well, uh...Kaden said you wouldn’t talk to anyone...why?" He asked
"Because they don't need to worry about me, I'm fine" she said, looking away and biting her lip. As Jack looked at her, he noticed green and purple marks on her...
"Hannah..." He said softly and lowered his head towards her to get a better look
"Are they bruises?" He reached his hand out towards her
"No! They're nothing! Stop!" Hannah tried to cover herself as she back peddled from his approaching hand, but her back hit something. She turned around and saw Jack's other hand and before she knew it he had scooped her up into his palm
"Put me down!" She demanded, throwing herself around but when she saw she was being held up to his large face she stopped. She shivered under his intense gaze
"They are bruises! Are they from...me?" He strained to get the last word out. Guilt washed over him- was he really that rough?
Hannah looked at him when he asked that. His brows were furrowed and he began to from
"No...They aren't from you, they're from Fiona" she said softly
"Fiona? What did she do?" Jack asked, now relieved it wasn’t him
"She took my clothes off and...And threw me around with her friends" Hannah said quietly and hung her head
"She WHAT?" Jacks face grew hot with anger
"Why did you end up on me?" He asked
"After that she took my bra off too and threw me onto your face" Hannah said, begging herself not to cry. She still refused to look up at him, even though he was holding her right in front of his face
"Then I sat up and you were..."Jack bit his lip
"Did you see anything?" She asked
"What?" Jack furrowed his brows
Hannah looked up and looked him in the eyes
"Did you see anything Jack?" She asked again, not taking her eyes off of him. An immediate rise of blush appeared on his cheeks and he looked away
"Oh god!" Hannah cried and put her face in her hands
"I didn't mean to! When I realized I looked away straight away! I'm sorry!" Jack immediately started apologizing
"This is just fantastic!" Hannah looked up at him with red, teary eyes "Out of all people, it had to be YOU"
"What's that supposed to mean?" Jack said, offended "because I'm basically the only giant you’re afraid of? What’s up with that anyway?"
"Jack...it's not what you think..." Hannah tried to explain
"Look I don’t know why you don’t like me but I'm actually a nice person if you gave me a chance" Jack frowned at her
"I know you are a nice person" Hannah hung her head
"Then why do you hate me?" Jack raised his voice growing annoyed
"I don’t hate you" Hannah's heart was thumping in her chest. Did she really have to tell him NOW?
"Then what is it?" Jack frowned, but Hannah didn’t reply
"If you don’t hate me what is it?" Jack said more demandingly, but she still wouldn’t look at him
He roughly placed his finger under her chin and raised her head for her to look up at him, she was crying
"I'M IN LOVE WITH YOU, DAMMIT!" She cried out. She looked hurt. Her chin was quivering but she still stared at him with her eyes open as tears streamed down her face.
Jack had to stop his jaw from dropping open. He swallowed hard as he looked down at Hannah sitting in his palm...
He retracted his finger from under chin and slowly lowered the hand she sat in onto the desk and tilted his hand, forcing her to slide off. When she did, she just looked up to him, crying. Jack bit his lip and averted his eyes. 'God damn. She's like a freaking puppy' Jack thought and sighed. What was he meant to do? He didn't know what to think.
He stood up from the chair and paced around the room, running his hands through his hair.

Hannah watched as he, for lack of a better description, freaked the fuck out. She wiped her eyes and let out a shaky breath, knowing he was about to ask a million questions.
As if on cue, Jack came striding towards her.
"You never talk to me?" He said, sounding pained
"You run the opposite direction whenever I'm around?" He held his hands up in exasperation
Hannah hung her head
"You act terrified of me?" He continued. He dragged his hand down his face and squatted on the floor. He let out a deep sigh and looked over to her
"Hannah you can't be serious?" He said with a pained expression
"I'm sorry “Hannah whimpered, and looked up to him. Her hands were shaking and her knees threatened to buckle. It wasn’t meant to happen like this...not this way.
"I'm sorry too, Hannah" Jack sighed and reached into his pocket and placed her bra a few meters in front of her, then turned around and walked towards the door
"Wait, Jack!" Hannah cried and ran to the end of the desk
He stopped and looked over his shoulder
"Just...give me some time" he sighed and with that, opened the door and walked out.
Hannah ran back into her house and buried herself in her blankets and cried.
