Just minutes after being born, Zim caused an event known as "Horrible, Painful, Overload Day," in which all of Irk would be in a blackout for 5 years. Here's how I think the Irken Empire responded: Zim being treated as a prisoner while the other smeets boo and berate him as he passed by.

This is also the moment Zim vowed to prove himself worthy to the Irken Empire, no matter what. The fire in his eyes isn't just from anger and resentment for being mistreated; it's also the fire of determination.
