Description
This is a collaboration I did with the incredibly talented Tazihound of our two characters for Domain-of-the-Wolf who happen to be nephew and uncle. She did the gorgeous line art and STUNNING background, while I sketched the initial drawing and colored/shaded the characters. How does she make things look so awesome? I wish I knew.

Silvanus (left) and Faust (right) are having a bonding moment as Silvanus teaches him about Havir's goddess Adezevah. And yes, Silvanus is acting particularly sober and responsible at the moment. I also noticed the lighting REALLY lightened up Silvanus' dark markings. :S Oh well.

The sun raked low across the tree tops, casting beams of light through the branches, and painting the mountains red. Long, blue shadows crept from the trees and the paws of the two wolves. He felt the earth beneath his feet, and spared a moment to feel the warmth of the sun on his back. Silvanus was on his best behavior, because Faust had asked him to explain more of the Havir's religion and tradition. Uncle and adopted father-figure was one role he took very seriously. He did his best.

"This day has been given to us by Adezevah," he started, golden gaze shifting from their fixed point on the horizon to his young nephew, who stood next to him with a understated eagerness that he had always admired. "We cannot take times like this for granted, because Adezevah is the only goddess that merely gives. Our gods and our land are not known to be forthcoming with mercy, and this can be snatched from us in a moment. When the hunt is poor, and the wind is bitter and cold, look back to this beauty and remember it is only waiting to be bestowed on us once again. Be grateful for every moment we live, for that is a beautiful thing."
