Description
This is my little pug buddy, a nearly life size bust of a pug in polymer clay. He's painted to look like a typical fawn purebred pug. The eyes, nose, and around the mouth are painted with a light gloss for added realism. I've been holding on to this guy for a while, and people keep commenting on how lifelike he is. It's nearly life size, like I said, maybe a tad on the small side.He is for sale! I changed my Esty address, you will find him here: [link]
Like I mention on Esty, the shipping options are the cheapest I could find, but if you know of cheaper ones, like for shipping to Canada for example, and you're interested in purchasing this fellow- feel free to tell me.
Don't use this image, that would be super lame.

Just for an FYI, though I am not insulting the piece in any manner (It is in fact very lovely), but a "Bust" typically includes the neck and in many cases the shoulders and partial chest. This is a portrait by all standards, but I'm just being nit-picky about the title. On a note about the piece itself, it is very well done. The attention to detail as far as the textures and scaling goes, it's fantastically pug-like.

BTW- I hope my disagreement didn't come across as rude. I am a discuss-er of things, I discuss. To me, disagreement is not an unfriendly gesture. I appreciate thoughtful comments.

No, no, not at all. I am just happy you understand the difference and whatnot. As you stated, not enough people know the difference between the two. I am glad as I also like to discuss such things.

I am well aware of the classical format of busts, I am an atelier-trained artist. However, the word "portrait" to most has a distinctly 2D connotation in my experience (I'm not saying they're right, it's just how it is), which makes the word "bust" a closer association to this piece for a lot of people. I would argue too, perhaps, that the definition of a bust is not always that clearly defined, especially nowadays, for example: [link]
I do admit semantics are simply not that important to me. But I realize that's not true for everyone.
I do very much appreciate your words on the piece.

very nicely executed! fur detail is very believable, and the shapes are nicely made. Very cool, I am sure someone will definitely find the guy a nice place on their shelf!
