Didn't go as hard out on the background, shading, polish and luminosity for this one... and it turned out better than expected!

I think his alignment post-reformation both around others and around Fluttershy is chaotic good. He's clearly doing his best to stay away from doing anything evil and instead sticks to mostly harmless fun.Β

Yeah, he's basically all good now. But it is his nature to be chaotic.
However, Discord is also the spirit of disharmony; a complete antithesis of harmony.
Can a tiger chance its stripes? Interesting to think about, imo.

He does also seem to be aware that sometimes, a little bit of chaos at the right place and time can do more for Harmony in the long term than rigidly adhering to the rules, and I'm sure it amuses him to initiate those doses. And look at Pinkie - she's got to be at least half-chaotic, and can use randomness for good like no other pony. Even Rainbow Dash isn't entirely chaos-free, and I'm pretty sure chaos starts building up any time the Crusaders are left to their own devices.

I don't think I remember seeing your rendition of Discord - very nicely, and indeed, he does seem to take various approaches depending on who he is with. Interesting fact that in IDW comics he seem to make some strong bond with CMC as well, while in the show he never made any interaction with

I haven't drawn Discord much at all (barely once a year!). And the very few times I did, he ends up looking a lot more chaotic Β andΒ abstract .

The thing with the CMC might've been inspired by the fact that a little spat between them helped get Discord released in the first place, even if the CMC don't know that themselves.
