Description
While it's true that we should treat others as people and not like lesser beings just because they are different (because really, we're all different), that doesn't mean we should be forced to tolerate and accept everything OR ELSE. I'm really sick of this militant attitude that we have no right to disagree with certain things we think is wrong, and if we do, we're bigots and morons. I think that mindset is in and of itself, very bigoted, closed-minded and ignorant. The point of this stamp is about dealing with adversity - something that I feel more and more of today's youth seem to be unable to handle. The truth is, life brings adversity, no matter what. You WILL face it at some point. When we force "tolerance and acceptance of EVERYTHING" on kids, they grow up later being totally unequipped for real world trials. Things will not go their way and they'll have no idea how to deal with it. Instead of handling problems with maturity, and good character, they will whine and cry like an entitled, spoiled brat.
While it's true that we should teach kids it's wrong to bully (something we SHOULD have been doing for a long time now), kids also need to know how to have some skin and learn how to properly deal with life's trials, instead of crying "H8ER!!!!!!" and "GO DIE BIGOT!" type bullshit.

Thank you~ Been meaning to find a stam for this for a while. I think one of the reasons that the youth of today is so unprepared is because of the internet. I mean, the internet offers virtual friends who rarely--if ever--care about you, and they never critisize you. People need more real friends who are willing to say what needs to be said. I have friends like that, and I wouldn't let them go for the world.

Well, if everyone thought with peace in their hearts there wouldn't be any adversity to face. That would be nice, but alas, that's just too ideal.
How do you think they should deal with bigots and crude people and bullies, though? Personally, I just try to ignore them (or argue a point if they seem rational enough) but I don't think ignoring is the answer, lol.

I agree...some people just don't get along and never will.
However listening to an opposing viewpoint is good to understand where they're coming from.
What doesn't kill you will come back later, so you better be prepared for it when it does.

The whole "Everyones a winner~!" mindset doesnt help either.

Isn't that the same as saying everyones a loser with a possitive twist.

Either way, the real world DOES have winners and losers, so the whole "everyone wins/is equal" is just setting people up for disappointment.

I've just seen a couple of days ago a 12 year girl on Tumblr that said she was "bisexual" and supported LGBT rights. She's not even sexual XD
It shocked me because the current social situation hit kids in a different way than it hit adults. Because, well, they're kids. People should do things with more discretion, isn't it?

I dont know if kids get kicked physically and people destroy their bike, laptop, school bag school books spread having false rumors of them spread on youtube and they complain about it..thats not really whining growing a thicker skin is a good advice but then it comes to things like that that you have to deal with everyday its not that weird to flip one moment.
After all if an adult does all of these things marked above they lose their jobs for gossiping and interfering with the workforce/team work. They get a fine for destroying someone's possession, and probably go to jail for kicking someone's ass. We don't tell the victims to deal with it either because they are 'different' .

I agree.
Yes, we should be able to get along with each other and accept or at least tolerate certain things. No, we do not need to accept or tolerate EVERYTHING.

Dang, I just wrote a rant/essay about this a few days ago, only on a more specific topic.
Tolerance and acceptance isn't the same thing. We should tolerate things we dislike, but that doesn't mean we have to agree with it.
Supporting this stamp!

I have officially fallen in love with you.
This generation(The one that's kinda partially me and mostly partially the children of the 21th century) is built up around being PC and LOVING EVERYONE EVEN IF THEY'RE DIFFERENT SO WE HAVE TO GET ALONG OR STOP BEING MEAN OR BLEH IM GAY BLEH IM BI BLEH IM RELIGIOUS/NON RELIGIOUS(WHO CARES?????) and it's destroying our children's foundations for standing up for themselves and for understanding what is right and what is wrong. I am a peaceful person by nature(LIE) but even I understand the stupidity and ignorance it is taking to do 'this'

Exactly. I'm only 13 mind you, but my school is sick and tired of the whole "Be friends with everyone!" crap. I mean, if you hate someone within reason, you shouldn't be forced to tolerate their actions. This one girl threw my 2 dogs IN THE POOL, and only one could swim (The other was a Pekinese.) I had to dive in with my clothes and grab the Pekinese before he drowned and received a scratch from him. (He was in a panic.) When I got him safe, I realized that my other dog was floating a bit, as he hadn't managed to climb up (Too small). I got him and dried him up, and thank god he was alive. They were shivering to the bone and the girl just laughed saying it was just a joke, and get this, I wasn't allowed to hit her. My parents said no.
So I decided to quit tolerating her, but then the teachers bawwwwwed saying that I was being mean and rude for no good reason. When I explained to them what had happened, they still said it wasn't right to not be her friend. WTF

Well, it existed in the 60's too when my dad was in school. I think personally that it's a good concept, but it's going to far. Because the people who try to break it up or stop it or is only standing up for themselves should be given a small reprimand, but the actual people causing trouble (It can sometimes be both parties) should be put into detention.

That's just awful! Look, it doesn't matter if your parents or teachers don't allow you to-she lashed out in a mean way against you (and your dogs! they're okay now right? :<) and that gives you a reason to defend yourself. Clearly she doesn't want to be YOUR friend, so why should you bother trying to be hers?

who cares what your parents think. Punch her for almost killing your dogs. You would only get grounded for afew days. It would atleast be better than letting her go like that.

That sounds awful. I'd probably hit the girl if she tried throwing my animals into the pool. The fact that she treated it like a joke makes me fume.
