Shiori was a sickly child with a poor constitution, so she was frequently in and out of the hospital. She was chosen to participate in the Desire Grand Prix as a “charitable gesture” by the organizers. While she initially wanted to use her wish to help all the other sick and terminally ill people at the hospital, a fear that it may not be what they wanted caused her to reconsider. As much as she regrets not being able to help them immediately, she hopes that in the long run she can do more- not just for them, but for everyone in that position.
