Well, Misty IS a Wonderbolt, and her cutie mark represents her special move, the water spout. So something along the lines of flying...
And you can make Cale have like a... hmm... he's a farmer. That's his special talent... make it like... just make it water drops or something, being as his parents were weather ponies. It really helped his foster earth pony parents, so ya.
