And there I thought I was done with making new imp species that are not insular endemics or from Sansorna. Sigil imps (Raki in their own language) are the inhabitants of the temperate regions of the southern hemisphere, which are not big and a good part of them spread over islands, resulting in a cool, very rainy climate with small temperature differences between summer and winter. Being closely related to the masked imps, sigil imps lack their savannah-adaption-related weirdness.
The Paintschainer experiment wasn't incorporated that much, but it is responsible for the white spot concentration being the highest on the tail base and the addition of red.
