Description
Red Earth's photoplancton is composed by different animals, but the rakecrabs form the majotity of them, so "photoplancton" became a synonym for them. They spend the day in deep, dark regions and raise at night to the surface using their airsacs, where they feed on the flagellated macroalgae (stonemoss relatives). Their prey has the tendency to swim towards lightsources and gets easily attracted by photoplancton swarms. The rakecrabs will also search for photoplancton clusters, which appearance is mimicked by several nocturnal plancton feeders.Related content
