I felt bad for the wolf when I was kid reading the "original" story, now I feel even more sorry for it.

The actual original story ended just with the wolf eating Little Red after she strayed from the path, the whole grandmother disguise and drowning in a well were added later.
But I guess, this is going to end more pleasant rather to get stones put into your abdominal cavity and then drowning.
