Description this is from a new project that i am just getting started with involving friends + abandoned places + narrative/emotive/surreal themes, much inspired by the work of gregory crewdson [link]

The Model here is my good friend and exploring partner in crime, Cyndi. The setting is a basement morgue of a MA asylum. It had no natural light so this piece was lightpainted by a few flashlights. I was originally going to make Cyndi's coloring more cool and blueish but i decided I liked the warm tones of her skin with the overall piece and perhaps it adds another level of questioning to the narrative. (She looks alive so why is this beautiful girl wrapped in gauze and laying in a morgue tray? hehe)

Rana~
I like this photo. I like that you didn't use the blur on it that use on some of your abandoned places photography. I love the lighting, was it happenstance or planning?

Also, you'll have to tell me where you found this morgue ;o)

this is in NoHo and was lit by flashlight since the morgue is in the basement and very dark

i'd love to shoot you in NoHo for my portrait project. We should think up a loose narrative theme or idea so i can plan out what clothes/props id need and set something up!

I like how they can have a calm look over their "dead" faces, since usually most models I've seen wouldn't be very calm in such an area.
