From a small series of tree sketches.
This is the only one from the series that have the Tiny People™ that we all put in for scale comparison. I think they might be cultists - I hope they have nothing sinister in mind. It's also the (mostly) only one without any leaves, and I put it in my series on purpose because I easily lose track of all the myriad of tiny branches. The brush I used was a hogshair flat with only a few hairs dipped into pretty dry paint to rake over the handdrawn larger branches. It needed some overpainting of the thickest strokes, and I think all things considered, it worked.
It's the last in the series, the orignal has been sold (as has the entire series, in fact).
