Description
I thought the colour palette and texture were very nice in this piece. I worked on actual black paper that I haven't used much yet but is very nice to work on; I used gouache for a change, because the yellow is a bit more opaque than acrylic would have been. The entire process was a tad chaotic but for the texture that seemed to work; I used a palette knife for the large areas, dragging it through the wet paint for the deep crackle texture, a fairly small brush for the figure and ink pens for the finer detail. Of course I aimed to simply leave out the lower area but the gradient wasn't like I wanted so some black ink had to come in there.
The piece is only A5 (15×21cm) small and was a fun little exercise. The original has been sold.
