Let's face it, OC's that are simply recolors are generally pretty bad. They are often lazily done and aren't very original because the design is already used officially. The only reason for example Hasbro and DHX does it with MLP is because they have a whole series to make and the recolors are barely background characters that are not supposed to be interesting. Your OC on the other hand, is supposed to be that. So lets see how you can redesign a character you may have that's only recolored and make it even more original!

Of course, you don't have to have an OC like that to use this meme. It's also a great way to make a new character out of just a color scheme. All in all, have fun!
