Two things hit me when I stare at this work:
1. there's something amiss, dunno what, somewhere, a place or two maybe, there's something wrong the the posture/perspective of the body, some slight details make it feel misplaced.
2. there's something very real to it, a strong presence. The great shadowing of the neck, arms, darkness of the eyes, and also the great oily water reflections certainly do a lot to bring it to life.

So my senses get a bit confused between feeling awkward and feeling absorbed.
It's a piece I'm glad I watched and I hope sharing my perception pays back a little.
