Description
This one was for my mythology class. It was a strange project for the beginning of my class. It was on the legend were the five toed rooster and pigeon separated the continents. I like this one though! It is very realistic!Related content

No, no its okay, I encourage help! I really didn't have a picture at all. I sat there pondering on what to do, till I looked at my mother's collection of chicken statues............ base it off the biggest one..... It was the only rooster.

aha well i have chooks and had roosters not too long ago (till they made too much noise and had to be...erhermm removed yummy) and well his back around the wing is very narrow, and his chest isnt buffed (couldnt think of a word 4 it) as a roost is, the crop (the chest) is usually like a heart shape or well as my mum calls it chicken boobs so its alot more forward and not as flat as in ur drawing. roosters alos have a layer of feathers above the tail-feathers that r fluffy and white (well all three of my roosters did anyways) whcih is like a downy feather. the legs arn't long enuff also, with chickens, hens have shorter legs than roosters and roosters have spurs, like a spike on the back of the legs which i think u missed in this drawing. ur rooster also hasnt got an ear (yeah they have ears...) which looks like a round feather behind the eye alone with all this skin stuffs (forgot the name of it) but yeah i think thats enuff nagging from me!!! i can upload a photo of one of my roosters if u want to see wat i mean a bit, i think all that writing may be a tad dragging

my suggestion is that you make the feathers look smoother, since that would be how they would be on a real rooster, and I'm particularly focusing on the down feathers.
A way you can do this is have more longer flowing lines along the feathers, and especially on feathers like the tailfeathers, they have all the little branches from the center, so attention to details like that can add a lot to the picture

Hmm.... thanks thats really helpfull. I was going to add much more detail, but sadly I had a day to draw him with a pigeon and chamelion! I spent the most time on the rooster because I had a lot of hope for him! I also really like chickens!
