Description
This one took me..... about a day and a half of straight work. I think the hardest part was coloring. Well there is a story behind this one.....Well in a small village, in the middle of a desert ( hence the brown color of the dragon) A young girl was responsible for killing her husband (He was trying to kill her first) The men of the village were outraged, and most likely going to do more then just kill her. Many of the villagers were brained washed and crazy. She hated herself for killing him, yet she didn't want the overly cruel punishment. Over all she didn't think it would be a fair judgment if she committed suicide. Yet before she could make a decision they were at her door. Fearful she ran out into the desert. No matter how far she went they still pursued. After a few weeks of traveling and starving, she got to the lair of the dragon that hunted and owned the land. He was a fowl beast, who was know to be vicious. She enter quickly, finding the beast asleep among his many treasures. He awoke confused by the girl kneeling in front of her. She confessed on what she did, begging the dragon for death. Dragons back then were not know for killing a kneeling women, laughs. He offers her a chance to atone by living here, in his cave. She agrees. So in turn she became a knew jewel for him to look at. ..... A living breathing one.

ooh, this is cool! I like the color
my only SUGGESTION (not critique) is that if you were to put a background in besides the treasure it would give a nice sense of place to the picture along with adding to the mood.

Practice drawing landscapes, and draw landscapes you are most familiar with and live around, then you can do it from imagination AND you know what the places feel like and can draw them better.
but just practice landscapes by themselves until you feel ready to integrate.
and also keep in mind that a background is rather misleading, making it sound as though it's un important, when really they make a huge difference.
then when you draw the picture, envision the picture as a whole, and not simply drawing the background as an afterthought.

Oh I get it. It won't go if it is just an after thought, It would look as if you drew it in seconds.

Yes in a way, and as a whole you lose a sense of the picture being "flat" sometimes which is what I deal with too.
but definitely, if you haphazard a background it will end up taking away from the picture, and I've had that happen to me several times, but if you take care to treat it as part of the picture, take your time like with the foreground, it should never fail you.
