This is made for the Banner contest on Wild Equines.
They wanted a special banner for the winter, I'm really hoping they like it! And I am also crossing my fingers I win
It will be tough though, so many good artists on there x.x

How I feel about the image. The background instantly caught my eye. It is ab-so-lute-ly stunning!
I was then browsing for horse stock but could not find anything I thought would fit. I happened to stumble upon this gorgeous mare when browsing ~BangGoesReality 's stock account ~Kennelwood-Stock .
It was the only image I thought matched this scene, so I started manipping and the rest is history.

I haven't written a critique in a while, so here I go. I hope this isn't too rough. xD
First off, I have to say I absolutely love the BG you used. It's so pretty. Not to mentioned I used it in my most recent manip. x"D The prep and lighting of it is also really good.
I like the horse prep and lighting- they're really good. c: The horse stock is also so unique; I love that pose. Γ
However, I would suggest maybe making the pupil a bit larger? Here is a tutorial I find very helpful: aimless-claims.deviantart.com/β¦
Next, I think the grounding could use a little touchup. Think- if a horse that heavy was hitting the ground that hard with one hoof, wouldn't there be a lot of impact? That would mean some of the ground would be displaced, and snow might be flying off in little chunks. Just an idea. ^^
I know is isn't really manip-related, but I love your signature thingy. It looks so professional. xD

For the impact thing, yo are totally right. So stupid I missed that.
The pupil is actually 'fairly' large, but I put the white highlights on top of it, which makes it seem smaller

My friends have brought to my attention that I have forgot every shadow that can possibly be forgotten. Mane shadow, horse shadow, mountain shadow. :"D

I noticed the shadows were missing too but because you blend good with the snow it wasn't that obvious
