My first entry for the IP Pageant. This month's theme is all about one of my favorite critters, birds.

Now I know a lot of bird species, which makes it extremely difficult to pick just one, specially since each one is amazing in it's own unique way. I decided I wanted to do something that was local to my area (bonus points if it was a species I had seen before) and that cut the list down quite a bit. I also had to think about color, cause of Feep already having green and blue I didn't want to do anything that had a lot of those colors. That took out ruby throated and broad tailed hummingbirds, bluejays, eastern blue birds, blue grosbeak, painted buntings, and some others. Of course that didn't leave very many. Robins didn't quite fit right, golden finches where to bright, and most others where a bit to dull. I was considering maybe looking at female purple martins, then I happened to remember this little red, white, and black bird I had seen once out helping my dad move some stuff out of someone's garage. That fellow happened to be the rose breasted grosbeak, and they fit what I was looking for just perfect. I couldn't resist adding a pair of em to the picture.

I did try adding wings into my design, but I kept finding it looking a bit to costumey, so this is the final result. I still don't know a lot about designing clothes, but I did learn a little, and I'm sure I'll figure out more as the pageant goes on.
