Description
My first attempts at an eastern dragon...*dons armour and prepares to be shot down in flames* I usually draw their chunkier western cousins so please be kind. However constructive critique is very welcome.Sorry for the bad scan.

Good job for a first try!
I don't have much experience with either family of dragon, but as a bystander I can comment on this;
Nice job on the feet and the tail! The only thing you might be concerned with is the consistency of the thinness; also, the turquoise tuft seems disproportionately large to the end of the tail, but maybe that's the style.
I don't /quite/ understand the neck either.
But overall, really well done for a first try in my opinion.

Hey hun, thanks for the kind comment
The neck problem is a result of me having got confused between my actual lines and construction lines whilst inking ^^: but the tuft was stylistic
Thanks for checking it out and bothering to leave a comment, I'm truly greatful.

They are strange skinny critters aren't they? Nice work with the feathery-looking tail and feet and the endless ridges. It's definitely a different dragon world you've gone to here.
The only thing that throws me is the variety of curves here. Most of the dragons I've seen either do strange wiggly patterns or curl under themselves. But they're always consistent in either case with the degree to which they curve. You've combined the two, and so you've had to have a sharp curve coming right after the hind feet, then a straight-ish section towards the upper left, then a consistent curl.
Egads, way too many words for what I wanted to say - a pencil is so much easier. At any rate, nice to see the *other* dragon family make an appearance on dA, thanks for posting this!

Thank you very much for taking the time to comment.
Aye I can see what you mean about his curves, they do seem a little odd now that I look at it. A definite case of I can't decide which one to use. I have to learn to be more decisive ^^
I cannot get used to how oddly shaped these critters are. Oh well I need the practice, these guys are so beautiful when drawn properly.
