Iggy doesn't have time to wait for Mario to meander his way over to the castle! Iggy wants to face him now! So he's waiting at the flagpole (which he's already claimed) for him to show up.I may not have liked this when I was done drawing it, but it's starting to grow on me . I drew this to try out more dynamic poses and cooler perspectives... maybe that part turned out OK?

I'd pay good money for a game where this happens: surprise boss on the flagpole at the end of a level instead of your normal boss room.
Also, you have an uncanny ability to make his eyes really cute instead of really crazy. I like it.

Lol he's already claimed the flag and "beaten" the level, Mario just has to reclaim it because it's still technically "Bowser's" turf or whatever. Or at least that's how I think about it

Let's just hope Mario or Luigi don't jump on that flagpole while they're invincible from a Starman otherwise Iggy is going to be in for a nasty surprise.
It would be pretty interesting if a future Mario game uses a concept like this. I know they've done fake flagpoles a few times before, but I'd like to see one where an enemy is on a flagpole and you have to defeat it before you can jump on it.

I wish they would do this, mix it up a little, have a Koopaling, Boom-Boom, Pom-Pom, Bowser Jr., another minion of Bowser, or Kamek block off an exit and guard a flagpole. It would make things more interesting. Or they could even make a fake flagpole to ambush and trap Mario.

Yeah, that would be awesome! I feel like they've done the fake flagpole before in a couple games, but not one where a boss or sub-boss is waiting for you.
