Description Samus is 100% needle-felted wool. For those unfamiliar with the technique: wool roving (the stuff yarn is spun from) is stabbed over and over with a very sharp barbed needle to make it dense.

You have to keep going over areas in a sometimes-painful, time-consuming process that is a lot of fun.

...A lot like playing Super Metroid, actually.

Woof, I couldn't even tell you. I think I picked at it off and on for maybe a month and some change. I've definitely learned a lot since making this... If I had to make another one it would go a lot faster.

Ohhhh that's really neat looking! I still don't fully understand how needle felting works, but her torso, her legs, her back, her proportions are all so impressive!

Wow, that's super badass, I love the pose? Can she pose? I know some of them has a skeleton.

It's solid wool, no armature or anything. The pose she's in is the pose she's got.

I might try making a similar figure with wire inside, just to see how much bend you can get out of it before it succumbs to metal fatigue. I'd hate to leave someone with bits of metal left broken inside their sculpture, though...

Ah! I had good luck with my stuffed animals though, I don't bend them crazily when posing them. So far they seem to be fine.

It's still an awesome little bit of work.
