Description
Fireball is an interesting character. I feel like Fireball has a lot of missed potential, ESPECIALLY IN CHRISTMAS IN JULY. So his character will be more focused on him involving that special.I would make Fireball a childhood friend of Rudolph. They two met when they were little, Rudolph’s nose was still hidden from everyone, including Fireball.
Soon that fateful day would come when the shiny red nose was revealed, Fireball overreacts like in the original. With an added, “Get away from me y-you freak!” He would blurt out. Though he wouldn’t mean it.
He wouldn’t see Rudolph again until he came back to the North Pole after the defeat of the abominable snow monster. He feels a sense of melancholy seeing his childhood friend who he ignited ridicule for. The two would kinda make up for a bit. Fireball this time was preparing to lead the Sleigh team, though after Rudolph’s nose proves useful to get through the storm. He felt a sense of envy and betrayal.
Fireball became bitter and angry, leaving Santa’s workshop out of spite.
In Rudolph and Frosty’s Christmas in July, the scene where Winterbolt goes into the cave of lost rejections to find the weirdo reindeer is replaced with him heading into a bar, heading into a dark corner, and meeting Fireball, having a drink. Winterbolt hires Fireball to help him dismantle Rudolph’s nose, knowing the pain and jealousy it causes Fireball, almost manipulating him into doing Rudolph in.
Fireball and Rudolph would have a bit of a rocky relationship when they first meet up again, though Fireball would grow to respect Rudolph and like him. Making the moment when he betrays poor Rudolph all the more impactful when he feels his bitter jealousy shift into guilt and despair.
Fireball is light-hearted, he likes to joke around and tell stories, he’s also fun to be around when he’s not being a bitter mess. Encouraging conflict cause it sounds fun.
Again, wanted to keep the personality in line with the original while giving my own spin on things.
I really love my ideas for Fireball and wish he made a return within “Christmas in July” as not only a good cameo from the first Rudolph film but to also do something with the character that was basically forgotten by this point.
Fun fact, Fireball's father would be Blitzen. Cause you know? Fire, blitz… it’s clever, I know! ÙwÚ
I really hope y’all like my interpretation of Fireball ^^ 💛💛💛
