I’ve wanted to redesign Steven Universe characters for the longest time, though every time I tried and tried again, they would ALWAYS fail miserably.

But now, I have finally been successful! Now that I actually have a style to draw these characters in.

Peridot was first, cause she’s one my favorite characters, right behind Jasper as my favorite.

I wanted to give Peridot a very nerdy look, cause she’s a nerd. Like with the suspenders and glasses instead of a visor. She also has long socks because it’s cute!

I wanted her outfit (the crystal gem form) to reflect her experience with becoming a crystal gem and being around the others.

Stuff like have a star shirt (Steven), rips in her socks (Amethyst), the gloves (Garnet), I couldn’t think of anything with Pearl, sadly. Though it could make sense, as Peridot and Pearl don’t really interact that much. Only major interactions I can remember were from the robot fighting episode.

Peridot also has a bow tie because it’s also really cute and she’s had one on before.

I had a lot of fun redesigning Peridot and I think she came out really well. Hope to do more in the future and I hope you all enjoy ^^
