Like spring, smiles will definetely return-------------------------------------------------------------

brother you will return
let your lion heart cleave the waves
brother you will return
in the breaking light."

It's been a little over 2 weeks since the Tohoku earthquake. I drew the Japan Ground Self-Defence Force/ Jietai uniform (similar to US National Guard) as their rescue and aid efforts have been vital towards getting the country back on its feet. Many rescue personnel have also been lost during their attempts to help fellow citizens. But regardless of damaged roads, floods, aftershocks or radiation among other obstacles, they have carried on. I want to show my deep gratitude towards their amazing determination.
However, it's been a little over 2 weeks....and the cherry blossom season is near. Regardless of the quake, spring is coming, and the cherry blossoms will bloom beautifully. Like spring, there is always hope.
Japan, please stay strong, smile, and bloom again
Don't just pray for Japan, believe in Japan.
***I understand that APH fanworks concerning the Tohoku Earthquake have been a growing concern among the APH fan community. The Tohoku Earthquake is still a raw, sensitive subject for the people of Japan (and Japanese fans of APH) and we must remember to use TACT and RESPECT regarding the depiction of these past events in fanart. [this is a must-read for fans -> [link] ].
It is not my intent to offend anyone with this fanart, but if it is offensive in any way, please let me know and I will accomodate appropriately. Thank you.

Ahhh, such a simple and beautiful idea! ;^; The choice of uniform is a good detail too.
My family recently received a letter from some from some friends in Tokyo that said much the same thing, about how sakura would be blooming soon.
And also, thanks for posting the link to the sock project! I hadn't heard about it before, but me and my family ended up sending some socks.

Thank you <3
It excites me to know that you recieved a letter from Tokyo expressing the same sentiments. I pray for the sakura season to be a strong source of hope for everyone.
And I'm thrilled to hear that you sent socks! I was hoping that posting links would help, even just a bit, to spread awareness on alterative ways to give C:
