Well, as much as I wanted my first submission to this site to be something impressive, I'm afraid that's not really an option. You see, I currently am traveling and don't have access to my Wacom tablet, Photoshop, or my archived pictures. But a friend of mine insisted, upon learning that I'd been sketching in my travel journal, that I upload absolutely everything I had drawn. So my first few posts here will be just random stuff that I never really intended for people to see. Just so you know.

If you're still with me at this point... wow. Heck, /I'm/ not still with me at this point.

Aaaanyways, the characters on this page are from a comic I've been working on. The premise is that this guy is filming a documentary about a band of adventurers who were famous quite a while ago, but have since been largely forgotten. I haven't decided on a name yet; "This is Spinal Fantasy" seemed a bit cumbersome, so at the moment I'm leaning more towards "And Cut!" I'm still open to suggestions, though.

Okay, on to the sketch itself. The characters therein are, roughly from top to bottom: Elgarth (cherubic face and bowl haircut), Foley (big nose and hood), Venn (spiky hair and attitude problem), Shea (the thoughtful-looking one), Cress (the stoned-looking one), Nika (crown and ponytail), Denton (bad picture, I know), and Glaive (helmet and ponytail). I like coming up with names; go figure. In any case, the only characters whose looks are really finalized at this point are Venn and Foley. I have a picture of Denton that looked just right... somewhere. Also, note that this was my first attempt to draw Glaive... I have a mental image of all the other characters, but I'm not really sure what I want Glaive to look like in the first place.

Okay, that's enough for now. If you read that whole thing, I'm proud... and frankly astonished. Go have a nice glass of lemonade: you've earned it, and besides, it's good for the soul.
