Description
Once upon a time there was a flower. It was the most beautiful flower in the whole land. Made of thick leaves and full colors, it was heard it had magic beyond a mans dreams. But the flower was locked in a wild garden belonging to the castle, never to be seen by the people. No one entered the garden, ever. There had been few brave men, but they had never returned. There was a man. A very brave man. He was young, strong and handsome. His name was Narcissus, named after the man in love with his looks, and he believed he was the most wonderful man in the land. But even though he was so brave he was scared. He would not forever remain young, strong and handsome. But he had heard of the magic of the flower and thought it would have the power to make him forever young, strong and handsome. He was willing to try.
He went to Eldred, the oldest man in the village, to find out all that was known of the flower and the garden. The Eldred gave him a sad look and told him to forget his whole idea and let life take its course. Narcissus disagreed and said there was no way he could live with that and that he’d rather die trying. Eldred sighed and told him what he knew. There was a wall. Higher then the highest house, he’d have to climb it. On the other side there were traps and wilderness. If that didn’t get him the dragon would. The dragon was young, strong and handsome, for a dragon that is. After that it would be easy finding the flower.
Narcissus bows deeply before Eldred then leaves to pack and plan. Several months go by while he prepares and everyone in the village has heard about his foolishness. But Narcissus stands proud of his plan and then one day during late spring he’s ready. It was early morning when he left and the castle was miles away. He starts jogging. By lunch he reached the wall. It was higher then the hills around his village. He started climbing.
The sun was high in the sky and the climb was tiring. Halfway up Narcissus loses his grip. His fingers slip and he falls. He quickly brought out a knife and swung it at the wall till it stuck. He hangs there for a while, catching his breath, before looking how much he lost. There seemed to be 2/3 left… so quite a bit. He gathered his strength and starts climbing once again. There were several close calls but he finally reached the top. He sat there for a while looking at the setting sun.

I'd really like to read what happens. The story is written very well, I like the fairytale-like-feeling.
