Raven from the Teen Titans. Convention sketch done for Karen at Megacon '09. I'm going to try and start doing some marker sketches like all the "cool kids" are doing these days. This is one of my first attempts.Related content

Hi, just passing through the comic / cartoon section, came upon this. I feel the pose could be a lot more dynamic. I don't feel any energy coming from it at all. In terms of strengths, the marker and line activity is great to look at and appealing.

Absolutely amazing job. I have not seen Teen Titans artwork in a long time, and seeing this brings back great memories!
It has a great sketch-y look, but then when you see Raven's face, it is most striking. Again I say absolutely amazing job (:

Hmmm, it's very nice.
I love the lineart, really clean and nice.
That pose is epic, the face so cool. Just like her.
But...
I dunno, the marker shading is too messy, you can see every stroke you made.
It takes getting used to, unless you intentionally went for this sketchy marker look..
But in my opinion I prefer the marker coloring to be smoother.
I still really love this pic though, wonderful work!

sketch? no, that isn't a sketch. that is definately something more than a sketch. a sketch, by my definition, is something that you can make a mistake on and go back and redo it. but with a marker, you've only got one shot or else you've got to restart the whole thing. i call that amazing. this is amazing. kudos to you!
