Description
This is the finished colored bronze of the Skeptical Turtle piece that I sculpted a few months ago.I'll get some turn around shots done as well.
It stands around 29 inches high x 14 inches wide x 14 inches deep.
This will be getting shipped off to Kauai this week.

You're obviously a master at capturing the perfect expression in every piece. They make your characters come alive.

I really appreciate your kind words and support....It's a challenge to convey certain emotions but sometimes just
looking in the mirror and distorting my face while I'm sculpting helps a lot.
As long as I'm alone of course.

Ha, love it! Beautiful work Randy. Man, you always put such fantastic expressions into you're pieces. Really nice touch also with having one foot with his toes tensed.Β

Thank you so much Jamie! So glad you like this guy.
It was so much fun to work on.
Thanks for noticing that little touch as well with the foot.
I think it added a little movement even though he's sitting still.
Thanks again my friend!
Take care

Ah, so very Auguste Rodin! An honest figure deep in thought, inner turmoil clearly visible from his features: "...whether tis nobler in the mind to eat salad or lettuce? Aye, there's the rub."

What a cool character. - now is he a turtle's version of "the thinker"?

RandyHand In reply to MeltedMedias [2014-03-31 04:12:48 +0000 UTC]
Thank you so much!
While the first one that the client commissioned is supposed to be a skeptical turtle, the rest in the edition will be
marketed as The Thinker.

I'm glad I chose the colors that I did.
I always have a basic idea of what I want but it always changes with each piece I do.
Thanks again!

Love the character and expression in your faces. I also see the benefit to a black backdrop.

Thanks so much Jordan!
I really had blast with this piece.
I should have done a lot better with the background. The backdrop cloth was wrinkled and covered in hair but that's what photoshop is for right? ha haha.
If I don't use black I'm really fond of neutral gray as well.
