So I've finally done the Seiryuu chibi set that I probably should have done several years ago when I did the Suzaku set. XD

Yui is so cute! She's my other favorite, second to Miaka though. I feel bad that she was being decieved by Nakago. I think they should have done more for her in the fushigi yuugi series.

Yeah, I feel bad for her, too, but if it had not been Yui, it would have been someone else being manipulated by Nakago. The Miko was just a means to his end. Although Yui also let herself be manipulated. She DID question him here and there, but by turning against Miaka she blinded herself against Nakago's true intentions. I probably feel worse for Nakago, though. As a child he was outcast from even his own already outcast tribe. Through all his trials he had no choice but to become hardened, and that just helped fuel his desire for power and revenge.
I do wish that Yui and Miaka's relationship was explored a little more - even though it's a driving point for the entire series, more could have been said. For instance, it's veeery subtle, and Watase herself actually confirmed it in an interview but Yui is actually more upset that Tamahome "took" Miaka away from her than Miaka "betraying" Yui to be with Tamahome. She just displaces her feelings by lashing out at Miaka, because even Yui herself doesn't entirely understand. She is just jealous and hurt. If you look for it, there is a lot more done with Yui that first appears. =3

Now I understand a little better. You know, I think she and Suboshi should have gotten together at some point. The last episode it had where Yui kept the earings and I don't know if she likes Nakago or not.

Well, with Suboshi, although they would have been cute, it would have never worked. Yui didn't have any feelings like that for him. Unlike Miaka, Yui was not close with any of the Seiryuu Seishi - in fact she barely seemed to know several of them very well at all, with the exceptions of Nakago and possibly Suboshi. Suboshi was the only one that had any real feelings toward Yui as well and that is after Amiboshi "died". She barely knew him yet comforted him without a second thought and that showed the real Yui to him, which began a fierce protectiveness over her due to her kindness. Yui on the other hand, being misled by Nakago, grew an attachment to Nakago, at one point even being lead to believe he really cared for her. A young girl in her situation - confused, lost and hurt - was easily going to trust that.
As for Yui keeping Nakago's earring, this is what she says in the manga when Miaka spots her wearing the lone earring: "It's Nakago's. Oddly, it didn't disappear when the rest did. You see, I just can't bring myself to hate him. He and I...are very much alike. It's like he lives on inside me. And I want him to stay...so I never forget the mistakes I made". Does that clarify things for you? =3
