Description Horse: Epona www.deviantart.com/rangerino/a…
Rider: Joanne Custodio
Show:www.deviantart.com/helsinge/jo… Halloweeny Show 3.0 Ween Harder
Class: Trick or treat

Story: Joanne threw the bare back pad on to Epona. " Okay girl.. Ready?" Epona gave a slight nicker in reply. She was all in costume and looked ready to go. It was their turn! They started down the trail at a easy jog. After a while they came upon the first deposit of candy and took the jack -o- lantern full of sweets. A few more jack-o- lanterns here, a few more jack-o-lanterns there.. After a while they had collected a large amount of candy and were starting to get a bit impatient. Epona danced a bit and threw her head up. "Quit it.." Joanne muttered to Epona. She tightened on her reins and wiggled them a bit to get her attention. They were approaching a stream and it looked like the had to cross it in order to keep going. "Great.. Just what I needed with a jumpy horse.." They took a few steps in and Epona tried to turn around, "Girl.. Woah.. You're okay.." She turned Epona back In to the stream. This time Epona relaxed a bit and took a few steps. Joanne reached down and patted Epona on the neck. "Good Girl.. This isn't so bad.." All the sudden she tensed up and crow hopped a couple steps sideways. "What is up with you?" Then Joanne saw. A beautiful white, glowing stallion emerged from the forest, holding the last Jack-o-lantern!! Joanne got off and took the last Jack-o-lantern and whispered "Thank you.."  Then the Phantom Stallion disappeared, just slipping away into the air...

Nice work with all the details in the background and in the costume design! I really like the story as well, creative idea that you've portrayed well in the drawing.

I love the texture  of the water color ( assumes it is ) and the use of fall colors  with the orange and greens;  that midnight blue sky with the speckling is great! I love the costume as well for both horse and rider, the details in the  horses mask and  the riders skirt really brings it together.

i liked the little story that went with it too, hopes Epona  didn't have any more spooks on their way back.

best of luck in the trick or treat class.

THANK YOU!! You have no idea how much your wonderful comment means to me. Yes its watercolor and the speckling in the sky was actually made by my white gel pen when the watercolor was still wet so it gave somewhat of a firework/explosion effect. Thank you! Good luck to you in your classes!

Your very welcome,     i've seen people use salt or do drops of water  or alcohol to get similar effects.  but i'm with you on using other  media   like gel pens  and  such  to get cool effects.  its fun exploring and seeing what  happens with what you have on hand.

and thank you.

Yeah, I prefer stuff that's within arms reach of the kitchen table (ha ha my studio) and at the time there was a gel pen.  Thank YOU!
