First of all I would like to compliment Jim and the model. Great shot!
Secondly I would just have to quote Benjamin Franklin- "This will be the best security for maintaining our liberties. A nation of well-informed men who have been taught to know and prize the rights which God has given them cannot be enslaved. It is in the religion of ignorance that tyranny begins." and"Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
It isn't paranoid to think the government wants to take guns away from citizens. They have already done so in some areas and continue to try to do so a little at a time. Look at what happened in New Orleans in the days after the hurricane for an example. There are even more recent examples if you just look for them. You won't hear the criminals complain about getting their guns taken, because they won't have them taken. Criminals, by definition, do not follow laws.
I usually don't bother commenting on these things, because I know I won't convince the ones who don't believe these things anyway. Had a moment here.

I hope you are right. I hear different from friends who are still in the Army. Questions asked of them lead me to believe they are thinking about it and the Joint Chiefs outwardly told them they would not be a part of it as it would be an illegal order. (Yes I have friends that high up and what I was told scared the hell out of me.)

No one is gonna take guns away in your lifetime. And if they did, so what? What are you scared of? That "Bad guys will always have guns" ? Then maybe you should become a bad guy. So far I have not heard any of the bad guys complaining that their guns are gonna be taken away.

You are barking up the wrong tree. For me it is not about the good guys and the bad guys, it is not about self defense either. I honestly use edged weapons for defense. I swore an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies both foreign and domestic. There is only 1 right that they way it is written shall not be altered in any way and that is the second amendment. I also feel that the Patriot act is illegal as it removes the rights of US citizens. The IRS also made a law that is illegal by making a tax law that does not allow any charitable organization to talk about politics or they will loose there tax exempt status. (This law as such no judge will touch.)
The American people today are like a bunch of zombies and do what they are told, believe what they are told to believe, buy what they are told to buy. They only care about themselves and let a bunch of corrupt lawyers run this country. It is time we as a Nation wake up and tell Washington we will not stand for it any more. Kennedy had it right when he said “Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.” I have done my part and continue to do so. What have you done for our country? Heck when I was watching the Super bowl I was irate when the colors were brought to the field and the National Anthem was played. The vast majority of people stood but were talking and joking around. There were very few who showed the proper respect for out country and those of us who have and are serving this country by simply removing there hats and holding there hands over there heart.

She is dangerous lol. Like me she is retired Army. As for the weapon the government here is trying hard to take them away breaking our Constitution. If they do it I think the roads will be full of blood. We love our weapons here and 90% of the people who own them will not give them up without a fight.
If you find yourself near me on a trip to this side of the pond I will let you both shoot some as well as use them as props.

I'm just thinking of selling my guns, used to shoot a lot of clay pigeon and game, not really interested any more

In England we can only own shotguns and rifles, automatic weapons and pistols were made illegal quite a few years ago after we had a couple of massacres of our own.
The crooks still seem to be able to get hold of them though!!

Well when they make guns illegal only the bad guys have them. Over here when our founding fathers wrote out Constitution they made sure to allow weapons to be owned by the citizens. This was so if there was a national emergencie people could gather to defend there towns as well as to ensure the government would not get out of control like it is not.
