Description I can't figure out what is wrong with this, I guess I'll have to take a look it sometime later because at the moment I think I've got this imprinted on my retinas from staring at it so long.

Drawn from scratch on Photoshop CS3, with reference to a image I found on google, which I now cannot find anymore!

So please, critique!!

Oh wow, nice work! It's a good development to start taking your figures into scenes with backgrounds and this is quite nicely done too...
The only thing I could really straight up wonder about this is whether you wanted the whole picture to look like it was raining or only the section in the background.

If you want to give the illusion of more depth to the picture, experiment with your focus, keep the character sharp but blur and lighten some of the grass behind her. Also, to get a great rain effect, try fiddling with (on a separate layer) gradients and motion blurs.

Do quite like this picture though, the lighting on the grass is great!

Thanks! I've got about ten billion different versions now, fiddling with the filters and smudging and such. I better try the motion blurs then, thanks for that. Nothing looks quite right yet.

The reference was only raining in the background, but I think for this I'll try to make give it the overall effect, that would probably work better.

Another thing I've kind of noticed is that the different sections have different 'styles' so to say, thats what I'm trying to fix with the filter gallery at the moment, but maybe the rain would help to fix that...

Anyhow, thanks for the critique, very much appreciated!

Haha, well at least you have the different versions. Does always make it hard to choose just one though!

The reference only having rain in the background does explain a thing or two... Still, it's cool that your style has transformed different sections into different styles. Makes it more unique! Anyway, I will keep an eye out if you change it.
