Description Been bowled over by the start of university, and it began with a wham bam bunch of projects involving a harrowing mix of stuff I'm horrible at. Managed to squeeze in this study. Painted over 3 sessions between doing boring project stuff. Reffed from photo snagged of tumblr again. I wish I knew who takes these photos all over tumblr...

simply amazing! your eye for color is incredible! Do you have any tips or exercise to recommend for training how to draw realistic portraiture/lighting/rendering?

Well, all these are very closely reffed, so I would trial and error to get the colours right, and over time I would need less tries to get them, and in the process of these guessing games I sort of learnt about colour, though I can't even come close to being proficient working from memory just yet...

I see. It's very impressive portraiture!! I really like how you render the lighting and skin tones

Reference is a great way to study and it really pays off in your work
by the way is this all painted with a normal layer in photoshop? do you use layers with blending modes for coloring?
