Ohhh yeah I know that feel haha but I started to think "do I really wanna work for 4h and get like 5$ for it? No." because your time and skill is worth more than that! But yeah, thats easy to say. Sadly it is true that on deviantart people kinda forgot the true value of art (especially because its custom art! its done only for you, the artist worked hours for your picture!), its really sad to think about oh well

Summed up: I asked what my normal full body commission would be worth.
Examples:
And the average from the answers ended me up withΒ 0.474$ for 1 hour. I can work absolute max 4,5 hours a day if I don't do homework, eat or do anything else than sleep and go to school.
I would need to work whole weekend without having any breaks else than sleep and then I could earn enough to buy 1 Ben and Jerry's icecream.
Worth it? Yes. I don't have another income and my mom only pays food, school books and basic supplies...
I want to set prices but I have no idea what to ask so people would still be interested. 'Cause I need that money to enjoy my life xS

what the hell your art is so much more worth, you arent even a beginner anymore whaaaat
The thing is though if you ask for like 50p for a fullbody people will take you less serious. I noticed that once I raised my prices and took cash as well, of course less people commissionsed me. But the people who do commission me usually pay with paypal and commission more complex drawings like, multiple characters with backgrounds and stuff. So I dont get as many commissions, but the commissions I do get give me more money than I would have received if I took more and more commissions for a smaller price!
And I do believe its because my prices are.. "more serious", my prices tell people "hey, I'm an artist, I draw for you and I know that what I draw is worth the money" its more confident, people will be more likely to "believe" that you do quality content!
And believe me, it was hard to build up that confidence to just do it. When I first started commissions I took literally 3 points for a fullbody (well okay, that was 2 years ago and I was pretty bad pft BUT STILL)

Oh no! please dont let things like this bring you down! I understand that its hurtful (and actually very disrespectful.) but those are just cheap people. They want free art because they just dont understand what it means to actually sit down and draw. they think they pay you for that one drawing when actually they pay you for all the years of suffering. xD
There will always (literally always) be people who think your prices are too high. But who are they to judge? only you know the true value of your work, your time and effort.
But I know how hard it is to set prices and I understand that youre scared of too high prices! So how about you start small. Lets say 5$/500p for a fully colored fullbody drawing, I really wouldnt go lower than that.
Its easy to get discouraged if no one buys stuff, I know that too! Last month I got no commission at all and right now nobody is bidding on this YCH! But thats okay! Eventually there will be someone who wants to support me and likes my art, who respects my worth and understands the work behind it all and that person will buy my stuff. And I can't wait to draw for a person like that!
