Description
Here it is, in all it's glory. The mighty F-22 drawn for "Fangs" and his gang at the 433rd Weapons Squadron at Nellis.*Removed long rant*
Here are the stats:
18" x 23" heavyweight paper
60+ hours of work over one and a half months
2H - 9B (basically every shade in between)
Used up an ENTIRE 6B, 2B and 8B pencil on this alone
I hope you all enjoy this, because I'm taking a big break from drawing after this. I felt like I Just ran a fuckin marathon...
*11-14-10 Because of this drawing I got to sit in an actual F-22 Raptor at Nellis.

Fantastic Job. I like black color because as I call it the "Stealth Mode". Finish actually has the look/feel like the RAM they butter the surface with. Am in process of creating F22 in MAYA 3D. Have a flash file (on my DevArt page I created of F22 Raptor cockpit that has some of the buttons activated. Ignore the audio (its a Cessna voice-over) used as a placeholder till I can get new recording.

Outstanding job. I can't say I've ever seen such a photorealistic piece. I was actually hesitant to check it out because I thought it was just a picture put in greyscale, haha.

this is your best and coolest looking raptor.
looks like a special effort went into it, the smooth tones and dark areas are really great.
thanks for your advice on my f-16 by the way, i was quite inspired by your work so i left out the shadow and background.

It looks amazing. I like these dark smooth tones, it's not easy to build on smooth paper. Would be stunning with some clouds on the background. What you think?

I was just thinking, what's the difference between the F14 Raptor and F-22A Raptor? they look very much alike. BUT this is only what Google pictures thinks, I figured you're maybe better at it? 'Cause I've drawn a F14 Raptor and I was searching for pictures and F-22 came up as results sometimes too.

The difference is there is no such thing as an "F-14 Raptor", while there IS a such thing as an F-22 Raptor.
Try searching "F-14 Tomcat"

I probably would have closed the AR door but that's just me.
I've found that nowa days for big, printable drawings you need to use a drum scanner to get decent scans that you can use for commercial prints but it ain't cheap!

BTW that f-16 will be awhile, my hands need a break from torture... err em I mean drawing!!

Cool! I like the composition, the way the plane fills the entire page. Good use of value changes, and i particularly like those dark, rich values that you have here. It's a really good piece of work!
