Description
Inspired by Kate Beaton's comic 'Nemesis' .If you played 'Kasumi's Stolen Memory' in Mass Effect 2, you'll see this salarian Spectre, Jondum Bau in a sidequest in Mass Effect 3. He will admit his admiration for Kasumi even though he is obliged to take her into custody for her crimes. I couldn't help myself and drew a Kate Beaton-inspired comic about this character. ('Rivalry' was the shortest word I could come up with that fit the relationship.)

It's not all about being a Spectre! There's probably some personality tests and lineage that need to get checked out too! Maybe the Bau clan has a crappy lineage? Maybe there are things on his record that many dalatrasses disagree with?
Besides, it's not like they all brag about if they've had a breeding contract!

I really don't think it has anything to do with sexual attraction.
Salarians lead short lives, and they don't have the biological or cultural basis for getting married or mating for life. So finding a passion in life subsitutes a marriage or relationship. That passion could be a field of study or a life goal, or a fixation on a person or thing that might be out of reach. And because of that short life, that passion or fixation is intensified compared to longer-lived species.
