No problem,
working with vectors are big fun, if you know how (youtube is best teacher I think xD, aaaand practice).
Many many little artists start with Inkscape or something... but I think thats the wrong way. Do it right
and watch out for an adobe Illustrator version. Students usually get it cheaper, for example.
