I don't know..
For awhile I absolutely hated it and was looking into other distros, but Ubuntu is my favorite hands down, so I figured i should try and get used to the direction theyre headed..
So i gave it one last try, and Ive been using it since.
it is actually very nice, and quite usable.
I like it more the more I use/explore it.
I just needed to change how I thought about it all.. Then things started falling into place. lol
its now safe to say that I actually like Unity!

Clarity has got to be one of my new favorites for toning things down and unifying the experience. I just love how well this works. Unity isn't so bad, huh?

It is the only icon theme ive used for months. Ever since it was released actually.. and the few times Ive found myself trying some new icons.. Im always right back to Clarity. lol
Yeah Unity is actually growing on me..
Soo much soo that i feel a bit "off" when i log into my 10.10.

Yeah, I'm glad we have a lot of environments that do certain things really well, so we can enjoy them a lot more than an environment that's hacked together to do everything a little well. That's what Gnome 2 felt like for a while, since a lot of the great things people used were 3rd party additions. Part of why I loved KDE 4 and used it for a few years, and now love Gnome 3, is due to the integrated approach. Things just come out a lot better that way, somehow.
There is that little itch inside me that wants to mess with things like PekWM and bmpanel every once in a while, but that's why I have a second, crappy machine. XD To mess with.
The best thing about open source is that we can be so picky- we can choose the best DE, icon theme, music player, etc. for our personal tastes, and help it get even better in that right. I remember for a long time, no two Linux desktops looked remotely the same, and OpenOffice or GIMP were the only similar applications you could expect.
I think in a while, the richness of diversity will blind us once more with how good things can be when you make it with a vision, with pride in what you do, not for cash. I'm excited, I guess. XD

Great screenshot, and in case that I don't know this thing called "Unity" I would say that this is greatly customised desktop.
But it's Unity, and I'm member of other fanboy army, hehe...
Just kidding. I don't like new Ubuntu but this is amazing desktop anyway.

Im still a bigger fan of old GNOME2 myself.. but figured if i love Ubuntu as much as I do.. I might as well get comfortable with the direction they are headed. lol
