I wanted to try my hand at a textured background and naturally it spiralled out of control and turned into this - whoops?
The rocks were admittedly a lot of fun, also still feeling that winter vibe.

Young Ruik climb to the site in order to prove themselves adults, leaving a handmade item looped around their chosen stone (there are many more spots like this one further up into the Teeth) on foot.

A couple of you have noticed their footwear in other images! So~! Mini and badly written lore dump!
Ruik believe they should always be connected to the ground in one way or another and by extension, the Underfen, (when atop a Borrusk they are considered one) which dictates the design of their footwear - heelless or with a section removed around the inner arch and toe/both.
This comes into play when completing the rites, a Ruik must get up the mountain while maintaining contact with the stone - but of course this is often covered in snow and ice - before finally reaching the site and placing their mark as a representation of themselves and their connection to the Underfen - and proof of their coming of age.
This is a dangerous and arduous task - but the Ruik are hardy things. There isn't a whole load of recklessness when it comes to the rites however, death is avoided at all costs and rescues have happened in the past. There is a degree of shame associated with failing the rites first time around though - because heck I like to torture my characters!
Big thankyou to HaanPere for helping me with the lore - I didn't do his summary justice but I tried!

I'm pleased with the stones, there is still something a little off about the composition but I was going for a scene out of an animated movie - a still almost so I guess it works? The characters passing through the scene rather than being static within it? Something like that anyway!
